Neuroprogenitor cell
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007892
A type of multipotent stem cell found in the nervous system that is committed to the neural lineage. These cells have a limited capacity for self-renewal and are destined to differentiate into specific types of neurons or glial cells, such as astrocytes and oligodendrocytes. Unlike neural stem cells, neuroprogenitors undergo a finite number of divisions before their final differentiation.
