Lymphoid stem cell

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006841

A multipotent hematopoietic cell that gives rise to the lymphoid lineage of white blood cells. These cells differentiate into T lymphocytes, B lymphocytes, and natural killer cells, all components of the adaptive and innate immune systems. Found primarily in the bone marrow, lymphoid stem cells are committed to the lymphoid pathway and are distinct from myeloid stem cells, which generate other blood cell types.
