Lymphopoiesis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006846
The biological process of lymphocyte development and maturation, which are key cells of the adaptive immune system. This complex process begins in the bone marrow with hematopoietic stem cells and continues in primary lymphoid organs like the thymus for T cells, or directly in the bone marrow for B cells. The resulting lymphocytes are then distributed throughout the body to mediate immune responses.
