Lymphoproliferation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006847
A rise in lymphocyte number through cell division, usually triggered by antigens, mitogens or other cellular activators. It is part of a normal immune response and is measured in vitro by the uptake of tritiated thymidine or a similar label by stimulated cultures. Unregulated lymphoproliferation underlies lymphoproliferative disorders such as lymphoma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
