Acute lymphoblastic leukemia
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000203
A rapidly progressing cancer of the blood and bone marrow, characterized by the overproduction of immature lymphocytes, specifically B-lymphocytes or T-lymphocytes. These abnormal cells, called lymphoblasts, accumulate in the bone marrow, interfering with the production of normal blood cells. It is the most common type of cancer in children.
