Lymphoblast
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006828
An immature precursor cell in the lymphoid lineage, characterized by a large nucleus, prominent nucleoli, and basophilic cytoplasm. These cells differentiate into mature lymphocytes, such as T cells and B cells, which are key components of the adaptive immune system. The presence of an elevated number of lymphoblasts in the blood or bone marrow can indicate certain types of leukemia.
