Bone marrow

The soft, spongy tissue found within the cavities of bones, responsible for the production of blood cells (hematopoiesis). It contains hematopoietic stem cells that differentiate into all types of blood cells, including red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. This tissue is a primary site of immune cell development and maturation.
