Erythropoiesis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004094
The physiological process of producing red blood cells (erythrocytes) in the bone marrow. This complex process involves the differentiation and maturation of hematopoietic stem cells through several stages, including erythroblasts and reticulocytes. It is tightly regulated by the hormone erythropoietin to maintain a stable red blood cell count.
