Cytopenia

A reduction in the number of any mature blood cell type, such as red blood cells, white blood cells, or platelets, in the peripheral blood. This condition can result from decreased production in the bone marrow, increased destruction, or sequestration of cells. Specific types include anemia (low red blood cells) and leukopenia (low white blood cells).
