Hematotoxicity

The adverse effects of a substance on the blood or blood-forming organs, such as the bone marrow. This can manifest as a reduction in the number of red blood cells, white blood cells, or platelets, or as functional impairments of these cells. Assessment of hematotoxicity is a standard part of preclinical and clinical drug development.
