Bone marrow transplantation

A medical procedure to replace a person's diseased or damaged bone marrow with healthy hematopoietic stem cells. The procedure involves first eliminating the patient's existing marrow using high-dose chemotherapy or radiation, followed by intravenous infusion of the donor cells. This treatment is used for conditions like leukemia, aplastic anemia, and certain immune deficiency disorders.
