Granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004998
A cytokine that stimulates the production, differentiation, and function of granulocytes and monocytes/macrophages from hematopoietic stem cells in the bone marrow. This protein enhances the immune system's ability to combat infections and can also influence antigen presentation. It is used clinically to accelerate myeloid recovery after bone marrow transplantation or chemotherapy.
