Granulocytopenia

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004999

A medical condition characterized by an abnormally low concentration of granulocytes in the blood. This reduction in immune cells, particularly neutrophils, increases an individual's susceptibility to bacterial and fungal infections. The severity of the condition is often classified based on the absolute neutrophil count, with severe neutropenia indicating a count below 500 cells per microliter.
