Lymphocytosis

An abnormally high concentration of lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell, within the peripheral blood. This condition is identified through a complete blood count and differential, where the absolute number of lymphocytes exceeds the normal range for a person's age. In adults, an absolute lymphocyte count greater than 4,000 per microliter of blood is considered to be lymphocytosis.
