Hairy cell leukemia

A rare, chronic lymphoid leukemia characterized by the accumulation of abnormal B lymphocytes with fine, hair-like projections on their surface. These cells infiltrate the bone marrow, spleen, and liver, leading to symptoms such as fatigue, recurrent infections, and an enlarged spleen. Diagnosis is confirmed by bone marrow biopsy and immunophenotyping.
