Neuroprotective

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007893

Describing a substance or mechanism that shields neurons from damage or degeneration, thereby preserving their structure and function. Neuroprotective agents can act through different pathways, such as reducing oxidative stress, inhibiting excitotoxicity, or promoting cell survival. This approach is explored in the context of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.
