Beading
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001158
A pathological change in the morphology of axons, characterized by the formation of irregular swellings or constrictions along their length. This alteration can indicate axonal damage or degeneration, often observed in neurodegenerative diseases or following toxic exposure. It disrupts axonal transport and signal transmission, contributing to neurological dysfunction.
