Neurodegenerative disease

A group of disorders characterized by the progressive loss of structure or function of neurons, leading to their eventual death. These conditions result in impaired cognitive abilities, motor control, or both, depending on the affected brain regions. Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease are prominent examples.
