Motor neuron disease

A group of progressive neurological disorders characterized by the degeneration of motor neurons, leading to muscle weakness, atrophy, and eventual paralysis. These diseases affect the nerve cells responsible for controlling voluntary muscle movement. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is the most common form of motor neuron disease.
