Neuropsychological testing

A standardized assessment of cognitive and behavioral functions associated with the brain, administered to evaluate the effects of injury, disease, or exposure to neurotoxic substances. These tests measure abilities such as memory, attention, language, problem-solving, and motor skills. A common example is the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS), which provides scores for verbal comprehension, perceptual reasoning, and processing speed.
