Ventricular fibrillation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012542
A severe cardiac arrhythmia characterized by rapid, uncoordinated, and ineffective contractions of the heart's ventricles. During this event, the chaotic electrical activity prevents the heart from pumping blood, leading to a loss of consciousness and pulse. Without immediate medical intervention, such as defibrillation, it results in sudden cardiac death.
