Ventricle

A hollow, fluid-filled cavity within an organ, particularly the brain or heart. In the brain, the four interconnected ventricles produce and circulate cerebrospinal fluid, which cushions the central nervous system. In the heart, the two lower chambers, the right and left ventricles, receive blood from the atria and pump it into the arteries.
