Glomerulonephritis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004917
A type of kidney disease characterized by inflammation of the glomeruli, which are the small filtering units in the kidneys. This inflammation impairs the kidney's ability to remove waste products and excess fluids from the blood, leading to hematuria, proteinuria, and edema. The condition can be caused by infections, autoimmune diseases such as lupus, or can occur as a primary kidney disorder.
