Pelvic kidney

A congenital anomaly where one or both kidneys are located in the pelvis rather than in their normal position in the retroperitoneum. This condition results from a failure of the kidney to ascend during fetal development. A pelvic kidney may be asymptomatic or associated with urinary tract infections or obstruction.
