Liver-kidney microsomal antibodies

Autoantibodies that target specific proteins within the microsomes of liver and kidney cells. These antibodies are often associated with autoimmune hepatitis type 2, a chronic inflammatory liver disease. Their presence in a patient's serum is a diagnostic marker for this condition, particularly in children and young adults.
