Autoimmune hepatitis

A chronic inflammatory disease of the liver where the immune system attacks liver cells. This can lead to liver damage, cirrhosis, and liver failure if left untreated. It is characterized by elevated liver enzymes and the presence of autoantibodies such as antinuclear antibodies or anti-smooth muscle antibodies.
