Autoimmune hemolytic anemia

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000974

A disorder in which the body's immune system produces autoantibodies that target and destroy its own red blood cells. This premature destruction of erythrocytes leads to a reduction in the number of circulating red blood cells, resulting in anemia. The condition can be primary (idiopathic) or secondary to other diseases or drug exposure.
