Anti-erythrocyte antibody
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000678
An antibody that specifically targets and binds to antigens present on the surface of red blood cells (erythrocytes). These antibodies can lead to the destruction of red blood cells, causing hemolytic anemia. Examples include antibodies involved in Rh incompatibility or autoimmune hemolytic anemia, often detected through a Coombs test.
