Glomerulus
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004918
A small, intricate tuft of capillaries located within Bowman's capsule in the nephron of the kidney. This structure serves as the primary site for filtering blood, allowing water and small solutes to pass into the renal tubule while retaining larger molecules and blood cells. Each kidney contains approximately one million glomeruli.
