Tunable laser
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012356
A laser source whose output wavelength can be continuously adjusted over a specific spectral range. The tuning mechanism involves altering a component of the laser cavity, such as the angle of a diffraction grating or the temperature of a diode. Dye lasers and titanium-sapphire lasers are examples of sources that offer broad tunability, with some systems covering hundreds of nanometers.
