Quantum cascade laser
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009759
A semiconductor laser that emits electromagnetic radiation in the mid- to far-infrared region of the spectrum. It operates by exploiting electronic transitions between quantized energy levels within a superlattice structure. These lasers are widely used in applications such as gas sensing, spectroscopy, and medical diagnostics due to their compact size and tunable output.
