Diode laser

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003228

A semiconductor device that emits coherent light through stimulated emission, similar to a light-emitting diode but designed for laser operation. It consists of a p-n junction where electrons and holes recombine, releasing photons. These lasers are compact, efficient, and widely used in spectroscopy, telecommunications, and optical storage applications, operating across a range of wavelengths from visible to infrared.
