Diols
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013039
Organic compounds that contain two hydroxyl (-OH) functional groups attached to different carbon atoms within the molecule. These compounds are a subclass of alcohols and exhibit properties characteristic of hydroxyl groups, such as hydrogen bonding. Ethylene glycol and propylene glycol are common examples of diols.
