Polyether
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009138
A class of polymers containing ether linkages in their main chain. These polymers are synthesized by the ring-opening polymerization of cyclic ethers, such as ethylene oxide or tetrahydrofuran, or by the polycondensation of diols or bisphenols. Polyethylene glycol (PEG) and polypropylene glycol (PPG) are well-known examples used in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and as industrial surfactants.
