Stealth
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011352
A characteristic of a material, often a polymer, that allows it to evade detection or recognition by biological systems, particularly the immune system. This property is achieved by modifying the material's surface, for example, by grafting hydrophilic polymers like poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG). Such modifications reduce protein adsorption and cellular uptake, prolonging circulation time in vivo.
