Grafting

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004988

The process of attaching polymer chains as side branches onto a pre-existing polymer backbone. This can involve chemical reactions that create active sites on the backbone from which new chains grow, or the direct attachment of pre-formed polymer chains. Grafting is a method for modifying the properties of a polymer material.
