Grafting

The process of joining two pieces of timber together with a scarf joint or similar connection to extend their length or repair a damaged section. This technique involves carefully shaping the ends of both pieces to interlock, then securing them with fasteners or adhesive. Grafting is often used in timber frame construction or boat building.
