Rind grafting

A method of grafting where a scion, a detached shoot or bud, is inserted between the bark and wood of a larger rootstock. This technique is suitable for larger rootstocks and allows for a strong union as the cambium layers align. It is commonly performed in late spring when the bark separates easily from the wood.
