Tongue grafting

A specific method of grafting where a diagonal cut is made on both the scion and the rootstock, and then a small, downward-pointing tongue is cut into the upper part of the rootstock and an upward-pointing tongue into the scion. These interlocking cuts create a strong union and maximize cambial contact. It is commonly used for fruit trees and roses.
