Graft rejection

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004987

The immunological response by the recipient's immune system against transplanted tissues or organs from a donor. This process involves the recognition of foreign antigens on the graft by the recipient's lymphocytes, leading to an adaptive immune response that damages and ultimately destroys the transplanted material. Immunosuppressive drugs are used to prevent or minimize this reaction.
