Histoincompatibility
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005316
The state in which tissues from a donor are immunologically recognized as foreign and rejected by a recipient. This immune response is triggered by differences in cell surface antigens between the donor and recipient. The major histocompatibility complex (MHC) proteins are the primary molecules responsible for initiating this rejection process in transplantation.
