Minor histocompatibility antigen

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007406

Peptides derived from polymorphic cellular proteins that, when presented by major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules, can elicit a T-cell immune response. These antigens are less potent than MHC antigens in triggering graft rejection but can still cause chronic rejection. They are particularly relevant in allogeneic transplantation, where donor and recipient are MHC-matched.
