Immunosuppressive
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005710
Describing a substance or process that diminishes the functional capacity or responsiveness of the immune system. Such agents can inhibit the production of antibodies, reduce the activity of T-cells, or interfere with other components of an immune response. For example, certain drugs like cyclosporine are used to prevent organ transplant rejection by suppressing the recipient's immune reaction.
