Suppression

A reduction in the magnitude or activity of a biological response, particularly within the immune system. This can involve a decrease in the proliferation or function of immune cells, such as T lymphocytes or B lymphocytes. Immunosuppressive drugs are administered to prevent organ transplant rejection or to treat autoimmune diseases.
