Suppositories

Solid dosage forms designed for insertion into body cavities other than the mouth, such as the rectum, vagina, or urethra. They melt or dissolve at body temperature, releasing active pharmaceutical ingredients for local or systemic effects. Rectal suppositories are commonly used for localized treatment of hemorrhoids or for systemic drug delivery when oral administration is not feasible.
