Troche

A solid pharmaceutical dosage form, also known as a lozenge, intended to be dissolved or disintegrated slowly in the mouth. Troches are used to deliver medication for local action in the oral cavity or pharynx, or for systemic absorption through the buccal mucosa. They are prepared by compressing or molding a mixture of the active drug with a flavored, sweetened base, such as sucrose or sorbitol.
