Gargle

To rinse the throat with a liquid medication or solution, holding it in the mouth and tilting the head back while exhaling air through the liquid. This action creates bubbles and allows the solution to contact the mucous membranes of the pharynx and tonsils. Gargles are commonly used for local antiseptic or anesthetic effects in the oral cavity and throat.
