Immune modulation

Any change in the function of the immune system, which can involve either suppression or stimulation of its components and responses. This alteration can be caused by exposure to a substance, such as a drug, chemical, or biological agent. Immune modulation is a broader term that encompasses both immunosuppression, a decrease in immune function, and immunopotentiation, an enhancement of immune function.
