Modulation number
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013297
The number of times a band from the first-dimension column is sampled by the modulator during its elution in two-dimensional chromatography. For adequate reconstruction of the first-dimension peak, a modulation number of at least three to four is required. This parameter is calculated by dividing the peak width at the base in the first dimension by the modulation period.
