Immune enhancement
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005641
The deliberate stimulation of the immune response for therapeutic purposes, especially in tumor therapy, for example with cytokines such as interleukin-2 or interferon-alpha that raise the activity of effector cells. It is the therapeutic opposite of immunosuppression. Antibody-dependent enhancement, the unwanted worsening of a viral infection such as dengue by non-neutralizing antibodies, is a different phenomenon.
